A Tauranga fork-lift driver who attempted to rob the Summit Superette with a BB Gun remains behind bars.
Harley William Annas-McGillan, 23, pleaded guilty when he appeared in Tauranga District Court today.
Annas-McGillan faced a charge of assault with intent to rob and pleaded in front of Judge Robert Wolff.
Annas-McGillan, wearing a mask, tried to rob the Superette on Waihi Rd about 6.45am on August 2, but after he demanded money, he was chased from the store by a male staff member with a hockey stick hidden under the counter.
Annas-McGillan who was remanded in custody is due to be sentenced on November 1.
