Police search for wanted man

Tauranga police want help from members of the public to find Teina Jareau Haddon.

Haddon failed to appear in the Thames District Court on a driving matter.

The Armed Offenders Squad was involved in a search for Haddon this morning in Papamoa.

A section of Beach Rd East was closed between 6am and 6.50am while the search was taking place.

He is described as a male Maori, 24 and of extremely large build.

Police said Haddon had no fixed address and frequents the Te Puke and Tauranga areas. He could also be in the wider Auckland metro area at the moment.

Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Turner said police believed Haddon was in possession of a firearm and was considered dangerous.

Mr Turner said Haddon should not be approached by the public and any person sighting him should immediately contact police on the 111 emergency number.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Haddon should contact police. Alternatively information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
