Rain on the way for Western Bay

There is a moderate chance of heavy rain in the Western Bay this weekend.

Metservice yesterday issued a forecast which said there was potential for heavy rain in the region tomorrow and Saturday as a subtropical low was expected to deepen north of the country.

A complex trough should cross New Zealand later Saturday and on Sunday, with rain spreading to most of the country for a time.

By late Sunday the trough should lie east of New Zealand, and a narrow ridge of high pressure may approach from the west.
