Crash victim named

The name of the Tauranga woman killed when her Nissan car collided with an unladen logging truck on State Highway 29 near the Ruahihi Power Station on Friday morning has been released.

Lisa Maree Boston, 42, died at the scene near the intersection of Ruahihi Rd shortly after the crash which occurred at 8.16am.

Head of Western Bay of Plenty road policing Senior Sergeant Ian Campion said police enquiries are continuing, and serious crash investigators returned to the crash scene yesterday, to complete a scene survey and analysis.

Mr Campion said Mrs Boston was turning right out of Ruahihi Road towards Tauranga when she collided with the truck travelling towards Hamilton.

She was the sole occupant of the car. Mr Campion said police wanted to thank members of the public who stopped to help at the scene.
