Party pill king's daughter admits guilt

The daughter of Tauranga party pill king Gary Read has admitted being involved in his major drug importation and dealing ring.

Kahsharn Oriini Read, 25, was set to defend eight joint counts of importing pseudoephedrine at Rotorua High Court yesterday, but pleaded guilty to all nine charges.

The charges related to the importation of drug packages from Thailand between 2009 and 2011.

She has been bailed pending sentence in July.

Her father pleaded guilty to 74 drugs charges on Monday, including possession of pseudoephedrine and P for supply and participating in an organised criminal group.

He will be sentenced next month.

Another man, also charged with importing pseudoephedrine, had his charges dismissed by Justice Kit Toogood yesterday. The trial for the final accused is set to begin today.
