Te Puke Community Board Plans for a skate area at Te Puke's Jubilee Park got under way in early December.
The project will sit under Te Puke Town Centre Development as 'Stage 3' and in the first instance report back to the project control group of Blaise Williams, Mark Boyle, Peter Miller and Karyl Gunn.
Community youth officer Zane Hadden, with the help of Paul Pou and Richard Crawford, are willing to head the skate project, said Te Puke Community Board chairwoman Karyl Gunn.
Richard Crawford has an overhead image of the area and has had talks with a skate park developer, along with the Wanganui Playground Company who supplied and installed the Destination Playground area, she said.
As the project will require consultation with the users in the type of layout and require substantial funding, work on this project will have the support of the community board and other service groups in Te Puke.
"Let's make this the best design as a destination skate facility along with the other facilities provided on the park," Ms Gunn said.
