One of a trio facing drug dealing and manufacture charges following a P-lab explosion in Katikati now faces six further charges.
Karl Rodney Goldsbury, 37, from Maketu, was originally charged with one joint count of arson, conspiring to manufacture methamphetamine and perverting the course of justice.
The arson charge relates to an allegation that Goldsbury and his co-accused lit a fire to destroy evidence when armed police raided a Park Rd property in Katikati on December 9. Goldsbury now faces additional charges of attempting to defeat the course of justice, conspiring to supply P, conspiring to manufacture P, supplying the drug, manufacturing P and supplying the precursor substance hypophosphorous acid.
The acid is one of the key ingredients used in the manufacture of P.
Police allege the six new offences were committed in Tauranga and Auckland between October 4 and December 9 last year.
Goldsbury was remanded in custody without plea yesterday and is due back in court on March 20. His co-accused, in relation to the arson and the first set of drug charges, are due back in court on February 5.
