The third man charged in relation to the attempted armed robberies of a Waihi service station and the Park Rd Dairy in Katikati last month has appeared in court and remains behind bars.
Rastaman Angus Rapatini, 20, of no fixed abode faced two charges of assault with intent to rob when he appeared in Tauranga District Court this morning.
Police allege the attempted robberies occurred within half an hour of each other on the morning of June 18.
Police opposed bail for Rapatini who was arrested overnight, but he did not seek bail and Community Magistrate Sherida Cooper remanded him in custody by consent.
Rapatini who is yet to plead to the charges is due back in court on Monday.
His alleged co-offenders, a 17-year-old Mangakino youth and a 19-year-old Rotorua man, who both have interim name suppression, appeared in court earlier this week.
The pair who are also yet to enter pleas to the charges are due back in court on August 7 and 21 respectively.
