Pair facing charges for taxi driver assault

Two people were to appear in court today charged in connection with the bashing of a taxi driver in Tauranga 12 days ago.
A 21-year-old man faces charges of aggravated robbery, wounding and attempted arson following the beating of the taxi driver, who was found covered in blood and staggering in Matapihi early hours of Sunday, October 10.
A teenaged female has also been arrested and faces charges of aggravated robbery and attempted arson.
The damaged taxi, a white 2000 Holden Commodore, was found a short distance away in Hoskins Rd after the incident.
The taxi driver suffered head injuries and was today reported to be in a stable condition in hospital.
