"The audience reaction. Well, that's something very terrifying on opening night. But it's the most incredible thing to see people affected to the point of belly laughing, or gasping, or crying by something that you've written. Magic."
This is a quote from New Zealand playwright April Phillips, whose double-bill Snip and Bonking James Bond will be performed at 16th Avenue Theatre from August 26th.
Directed by Merv Beets, and performed by Tauranga's funniest and finest actors, these shows are not to be missed and will be performed one after the other in the double-bill.
Snip gives an insight into what happens between man and wife when the subject of a vasectomy arises. Bonking James Bond confronts the topic of adultery and the fantastical ways people cope when their spouse strays. April herself attended the opening night, an exciting and rare occasion for both audience and thespians.
