Wellington blues musician Darren Watson and Dunedin altfolk/country troubadour Matt Langley are encouraging people to "shoot their televisions" and get their thumbs off their smartphones to check out some of New Zealand's finest original music live in concert this winter.
Watson and Matt Langley's Shoot Your Television Winter Tour will visit towns and cities across the country to mid July playing bars, cafes, halls, and house concerts.
Every gig promises to be worth leaving your television for.
Langley promises new material alongside award-winning songs from his two albums: Featherbones and Virginia Avenue.
His set is followed by blues veteran Watson showcasing songs from his new album Introducing Darren Watson as well as his other audience favourites and a few classic early blues songs.
Watson is also promising to bring his resonator and bottleneck as well as a telecaster and amplifier for rocking up the end of the set, where he will be joined by some special guests.
He says he will "probably" play the song that he fought a high-profile High Court action to be able to legally release, Planet Key.
The pair also play a few tunes together, if the mood strikes.
Shoot Your Television Tour, Mauao Performing Arts Centre, Friday, July 3.
