Bay of Plenty houses are decorated for light trail.
The lights are on! But nobody is home as many are out cruising the streets, gazing at the beautiful Christmas lights adorning Western Bay of Plenty homes from tonight.
The Bay of Plenty Time's popular Christmas Light Trail officially opens (or turns on) from tonight. The Tauranga tradition is a must-see.
Homes throughout Tauranga, Mount Maunganui and Papamoa, surrounding areas
and even Whangamata decorate their houses with elaborate lights, adornments and Christmas props throughout December.
The public is encouraged to get in their cars and enjoy the sights.
Some of the highlights include most, if not all of Plover Place and this year the entire Chevron Crescent in Whangamata has decked out their exteriors as well. Don't miss Bethlehem Town Centre's big Christmas tree either.
A bus tour was organised and sold out on its first day and three bus loads of
people will be enjoying the Christmas lights in style on December 19.
Homes in the Christmas Light Trail 2014 will have their lights on from 7.30pm-11pm every night until December 24.
