NZME are launching Tauranga's number one station Coast, into the Coromandel on 97.9FM from 1 December.
The Tauranga Breakfast show with Brian Kelly will air in the Coromandel from mid-January, and listeners can catch Drive with Jason Reeves until the end of this year.
Rounding out the lineup is Lorna Subritzky on days and Nights with Rick Morin.
Coast plays classics from bands including Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Billy Joel, The Eagles, Elton John, Queen and David Bowie, and will bring the Coromandel the best music, interviews with intriguing guests, and news and entertainment updates.
Content director for the station Raylene Ramsay said she was pleased to bring great music and interviews to listeners in the Coromandel.
"We've sent people to London to visit Coronation Street and New York to see Barbara Streisand, and we're excited for our Coromandel listeners to come into the fold, and throw their hats in the ring for our once-in-a-life time opportunities!"
Right now, Coast listeners can enter to "Take a Stairway" to see Robert Plant, live in San Francisco.
Bay of Plenty general manager Greg Murphy said the new frequency would not only add opportunities for listeners, but for advertisers as well.
"Local companies will now be able to reach the ears of listeners from Pauanui and Tairua down to Waihi Beach. Combining this new station with Coast on iHeartRadio, and the great digital and social content, and Coast has a powerful presence."
"We're looking forward to launch and bringing both listeners and advertisers a quality music station with a fantastic lineup. Having Coast in the area will be a great complement to the Coastal News".
Coast can be heard right now on iHeartRadio.
