Tauranga Chamber of Commerce's first Business After Five (BA5) meeting of the year will be an opportunity for local business people to meet new Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology chief executive Leon Fourie.
Dr Fourie will present his vision for the future of tertiary education at the networking event, from 5.15pm-7pm on Wednesday at the Bongard Centre, Cameron Rd, Tauranga.
Tauranga Chamber chief executive Stan Gregec predicted a good crowd, and said there was strong interest amongst the local business community in the recently merged institute. "This will be a great start to our year."
Dr Fourie said during a recent interview that Toi Ohomai would continue to play a leading role in the vocational and applied professional space, not only with other tertiary providers in the region, but also with schools, community and employers as key links in the education-to-employment value chain.
