The New Zealand Breakers secured an impressive 96-84 opening win over the Adelaide 36ers in the Australian basketball league pre-season tournament in Brisbane.
Guard Corey Webster poured in 21 points, while newcomer Tai Wesley chipped in with 16 for an under-strength Breakers team.
Import point guard Cedric Jackson scored eight points in his return.
The Breakers meet Townsville tonight in their second and final game of the tournament.
