She warned us that her musical ambitions wouldn't lay dormant for long. Paris Hilton wasn't yanking our chains.
You betcha, the socialite and hotel heiress is ready to assault the charts again - as well as try her hand at DJ-ing.
The 31-year-old former reality TV queen had a stab at a pop career in 2006 with the release of her self-titled debut album, Paris. It barely made a dent on the charts, and the critics gave it a mauling.
Hilton revealed in March that she was vying for a comeback, and had enlisted the help of a bevy of "top DJs" to help her make a second stab at forging a music career.
She dished that party-rockers and hitmakers LMFAO will be taking production credits on an upcoming single.
"It's completely different from my last album," she told MTV News. "I'm going with a whole new genre. I have [DJ/producer] Afrojack executive-producing the entire album. So we've just been coming up with the most incredible tracks."
She added: "I was just in the studio with RedFoo the other night, so we're going to be doing my new single with LMFAO.
"I think a lot of people don't know that music is my passion since I was a little girl," she said.
"I'm very musically talented. This is more my thing [musically on this album], more of a club scene, more dance. The single's done; it's in the can. That's probably going to be out [within] the next month or two."
Fast forward to June, and everyone's favourite heiress not only has a brand new bag of tunes to tote, she's also spinning 'em.
Hilton debuted her DJ skills on Saturday at the Pop Music Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and by all accounts it went ... well, check it out below and judge for yourselves.
Earlier in the day, she tweeted: "Busy day preparing for my show tonight. I'm so nervous & excited! I can't wait to get up there & see #SaoPaolo dance!"
"On my way to The #PopMusicFestival! I have never been so nervous & excited all at once!"
She later added: "Wow! What an incredible night! So happy you all loved my set! Loved watching you all smile & dance! One of the best night's of my life!"
But not everyone was impressed with her DJ debut.
Canadian DJ Deadmau5, who recently branded Madonna a "funky grandma" in an ongoing feud, tweeted his verdict on Hilton's spinning skills.
"AS I WAS SAYING ... it's over," he wrote, while linking to a series of videos from her set.
He later added: "To be fair ... the mayans saw this sh*t coming."
