Basketball: Breakers finish year with crushing defeat

The New Zealand Breakers have failed to finish off their breakthrough year in Australian NBL the way they would have liked.

They've been crushed 74-57 by the Taipans in Cairns, to drop to second on the table.

Perth has gone to the top of the ladder following their 97-76 thrashing of Townsville, while Melbourne has beaten Gold Coast 79-72 and Sydney has beaten Wollongong 86-83.
