First drinks were a bottle of Coopers - a $6 special during happy hour - and a warming handle of the zingy house-made ginger beer cocktail for $9. We were also (easily) swayed into sampling a sip of the experimental warm white wine brew the bar staff were playing around with. It wasn't great, but the banter, led by owner Lukrecya Craw, was.
The vibe is super-chilled, very friendly and just the right amount of hip to make us feel like hanging out for a chat at the bar a bit longer.
The toilets are a couple of unisex options up the back, one wheelchair friendly, both clean, with a bit of light-hearted graffiti to add character.
On the stereo was a rolling playlist of great indie electro/rock tracks that we had never heard before but wanted to add to a Spotify playlist.
Room for improvement the relaxed style appeals to most, but wasn't as much fun when a friend with a food allergy had special requests that went totally ignored a while ago.
The perfect spot for a feed and a few drinks before kicking along to other K Rd haunts.
Most redeeming feature aside from the personable service, we loved the name Peach Pit as soon as we heard it, reminiscent of our Beverly Hills 90210 fan-girl days. It was inspired by the 90s soap, we're told, but it's also a clever tongue-in-cheek reference to its positioning halfway between adult store Peaches & Cream and Pitt St - both K Rd landmarks.
