A head of an Auckland child-care centre taped the mouth of a 4-year-old with sticky tape, and threatened him with a bigger piece of tape if he kept putting toys in his mouth.
Atrayee Roy was the head teacher at Top Kids New Lynn at the time of the February 2014 incident, prompting other staff to follow suit and threaten the child, the Teachers Council disciplinary tribunal heard.
The council ruled her actions were "entirely inappropriate and amounted to serious misconduct" and ordered she pay costs of $1154.
