Auckland has been named the friendliest city in the world by one of the most renowned international luxury travel magazines, Conde Nast Traveller.
The annual readership survey named Auckland as the only New Zealand city to feature in the top ten list.
Auckland Mayor Len Brown said the latest findings continue to underpin Auckland's aspirations to be the world's most liveable city.
"It's particularly pleasing coming from a magazine of the standing of Conde Nast, one of the world's premier travel publications."
Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED) Chief Executive Brett O'Riley said this is a glowing endorsement of the region and should be celebrated by all Aucklanders.
According to Conde Nast Traveller, Auckland people are friendly and their humour and view on life is something to aspire to.
The latest survey follows Auckland being named one of the top 10 cities in the world to visit in Lonely Planet's 2014 Best in Travel Guide. Auckland is also ranked as the third most liveable city in the 2013 Mercer Quality of Life Survey.
