Sculpture in Te Atatu

This weekend Te Atatu's Harbourview Walkway will be transformed into a sculpture trail. The outdoor exhibition of contemporary New Zealand sculpture will be displayed for three weeks, with proceeds going to support Hospice West Auckland.

The Te Atatu Business Association, with support from Auckland Council, is running the event which features 45 sculptures by 35 artists.

The sculpture trail will lead visitors through a unique salt marsh area with ponds and stunning views across the Waitemata Harbour to Auckland City, the Harbour Bridge and Rangitoto Island.

The artworks have been chosen for their connection to the local history and the unique salt marsh area that was once kauri forest and peat swamps. Several artworks also comment on social and political issues that affecting local communities and environments.

The exhibition runs from Saturday March 3 to Sunday March 25, open 10am to 6 pm daily. Entrance $10 Adult, $5 Children, Under 5's free. Seniors and groups of 10 or more $9 each, Family group $25. All artworks for sale.
