Frolic in the sun in fun styles

Whether you're heading off to the beach this summer or staying in the city, it's time to put away your workwear for a few weeks and have some fun with your wardrobe. When it comes to fashion, rules are made to be broken, so once the sun starts shining pull out your vibrant summer gear and make the most of the warm weather.

Colour theory

If you don't usually wear colour, then you'll be surprised at the positive impact wearing vivacious shades will have on yourself and those around you. A long time ago, our grandmothers were told wearing pink and red together was one of the biggest fashion crimes imaginable. Thankfully, today this fashion fallacy has been long forgotten and almost any colour combination is acceptable thanks to the latest colour blocking trend. Be audacious and pick out garments in your favourite hues and clash them or match them till your heart's content.

Finishing touch

Summer is the time to pull out all your accessories and be creative with them. Sunglasses have to be our favourite accessory of the season. While you can't go past an endearing, classic pair of sunglasses, this year there is a plethora of fun and frivolous sunnies around in new shapes and colours.

If you're wary of forking out a few hundred dollars for a new shape or style that you're not sure you'll wear for more than one season, head to a chain store such as Glassons or Max. Consider picking up a cheaper version of the style you like before investing in a quality pair that you will treasure for a lifetime.

New feminism

When the sun arrives, push the chunky, figure-drowning knits of winter to the back of the wardrobe to make room for feminine and flirtatious garments that will flatter your figure. No wardrobe is complete without the perfect summer frock so work out what your best assets are and show off a little skin. Embrace your feminine side and flaunt your figure in fabulous floral prints. A generous lashing of girl accessories will complete your look perfectly.
