Manukau and Waitemata Harbours, Hauraki Gulf and Bream Head to Cape Colville.

Situation:

A ridge over North Island persists through to Saturday. Meanwhile, a front lies over the far south and becomes slow moving over the lower South Island on Thursday. A complex low approaches the country from the Tasman Sea on Sunday.

For the Manukau and Waitemata Harbours: Thursday: Variable 5 knots. Northeast 10 knots developing in the afternoon. Sea slight, but choppy when wind opposes tide. Cloudy periods, with possible morning showers. For the Hauraki Gulf and the area from Bream Head to Cape Colville: Thursday: Northeast 10 knots, rising to 15 knots north of Whangaparaoa in the afternoon. Sea slight. Cloudy periods, with possible morning showers.

Outlook until midnight Sunday: Friday: Northeast rising to 15 knots. Fine. Saturday: Northeast 15 knots. A few showers developing. Sunday: Northeast rising to 25 knots. Cloudy periods and a few showers.
