A front moves northeast across the country today, becoming slow moving over the upper North Island on Sunday and Monday. Meanwhile, another front moves onto the South Island on Sunday and Monday. The fronts move away to the east on Tuesday, followed by a west to southwest flow over New Zealand.

For the Manukau and Waitemata Harbours: Saturday: Southwest 15 knots rising to westerly 20 knots this morning then tending northwest 15 knots in the evening. Slight sea becoming moderate for a time in the morning and afternoon. Mostly cloudy with a few light showers in the morning and evening. For the Hauraki Gulf and the area from Bream Head to Cape Colville: Saturday: Southwest 15 knots but 20 knots through Colville Channel, rising to southwest 20 knots everywhere this morning, and to 25 knots gusting 35 knots in the afternoon,then turning northwest 15 knots in the evening. Sea becoming rough for a time in the afternoon. Often cloudy, but afternoon fine breaks.
Outlook until midnight Tuesday: Sunday: Becoming westerly 15 knots morning, easing to northwest 10 knots in the evening. Few showers. Monday: Northerly rising to 20 knots but 25 knots about Hauraki Gulf and Bream Head to Cape Colville. Showers turning to rain. Tuesday: Changing southwest 20 knots early. Few showers.
