A solo mum forced out of her rented home after it tested positive for P now faces an agonising wait to discover if her possessions will be condemned.
The Herald on Sunday revealed last week Kadon Captain and her two children moved out of the $720 a week Red Beach villa after tests revealed levels of the drug 25 times above safety limits.
The house was owned by methamphetamine dealer Brett Campbell Bogue, who was jailed for more than nine years in November.
Further tests carried out for the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment this week found the house was "contaminated" and "it should not be tenanted".
Captain's belongings, left behind when she moved out, were also contaminated.
"Everything I own will have to be further tested to see what needs to be destroyed and what can be saved," she said on Friday.
"All of our clothes, furniture and electronic goods are at risk."
Bogue's sister Krishla said the family would not comment until after the second part of a Tenancy Tribunal hearing ends in July.
Captain is seeking compensation from Bogue's real estate agent mother, Janice Bogue. She was the acting landlord and is counter-claiming, seeking $6582 in alleged unpaid rent from Captain.
An MBIE spokesman said the Red Beach villa was forfeited to the Crown on May 13 under the Criminal Proceeds Act.
