A man has appeared in the Auckland District Court this morning charged with the murder of a woman in the central city yesterday.
The woman was one of two people stabbed at an international school in Queen St.
The 29-year-old man charged with her murder and the attempted murder of another man appeared in court wearing a white boiler suit and did not enter a plea.
The man's name and occupation were suppressed by the court.
He was remanded in custody and will appear in court via video link on Monday.
The incident happened yesterday in a building between the top of Queen St and Liverpool St, just back from Karangahape Rd.
Paramedics were called to the scene at 12.22pm, a St John Ambulance spokeswoman said. Two patients were taken to Auckland City Hospital.
One, a woman in her 20s, was in a critical condition but later died. The other, a 22-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and remained in hospital last night in a stable condition.
