Kiwi shot putter Valerie Adams has suffered another rare defeat.
The world and Olympic champion has finished second at the Diamond League meeting in London.
Adams recorded a best throw of 18.59 metres, to finish behind the winner Michelle Carter of America who threw 19.74 metres.
It follows Adams' fifth placing in Paris earlier this month, which broke her remarkable run of 56 straight wins at international competitions.
Meanwhile, fellow shot putter Tom Walsh has clocked his own New Zealand and Oceania record at a meeting in Germany.
Walsh has recorded a throw of 21.50 metres in Mutterstadt to record a personal best and break his own national and Oceania record by 13 centimetres.
His previous best throw was 21.37 metres in Melbourne earlier this year.
Walsh says a few tweaks helped him set the new mark.
We've worked on some different things in training, some technical stuff after a bit of a rough competition the week before in Monaco"
"I'm fresh enough at the moment to throw well and it seemed to make a hell of a lot of difference."
