Comedian Jeremy Elwood is touring the country with the 7 Days team and playing Auckland's Bruce Mason Centre on November 23.

The book I love most is ... Usually the last one I've read, but I have a real affection for Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane. It elevates the standard noir detective story to a new level of psychological thriller.

The book I'm reading right now is ... On The Road by Jack Kerouac.

The book I'd like to read next is ... A new essay co-written by Christopher Hitchens, Hunter S Thompson, J.D. Salinger and Charles Bukowski explaining how they all faked their own deaths, and have, in fact, been locked away drinking and swapping notes for several original stories they intend to publish over the next decade.

The book that changed me is ... A Midsummer Night's Dream. It's a play, strictly speaking, but it introduced me to Shakespeare and, in many ways, to the stage in general.
