Twenty thousand poppies will be distributed around Wanganui tomorrow thanks to the RSA. It's Poppy Day, the annual appeal for the RSA and symbol of remembrance. It's early this year because of Easter.
The poppies have pins attached by RSA volunteers before being boxed and sent out all over the district by RSA Women's Section members in time for people to wear tomorrow. Sprigs of rosemary are also placed on war graves in Wanganui cemeteries for Anzac Day.
Getting things organised at the RSA in St Hill St Wanganui are from left, Women's Section secretary Jose Ravenwood, patroness Helen Collins and Women's Section committee member Marilyn Morris.
